Classic car spring trip to Champagne
from April 28th to May 1st, 2023
Our traditional spring outing on the last weekend in April will last one day longer in 2023 because we include May 1st. We chose Champagne as our destination. The individual stages don't become too long thanks to the additional day.
Detailed information about the itinerary can be found below and in the registration form.

We start in Eltville in the morning and drive along the Rhine, through Hunsrück and along the Moselle. We enjoy small towns and the beautiful landscape. We pass what was once Germany's longest suspension rope bridge in Geyrlei. To get us in the mood, we will visit a winery in a small wine village in Luxembourg and spend the first night there.
We drive through the former mining regions in the border area of Luxembourg and France. We continue past less than glorious evidence of our shared past to Verdun. There is enough time for a break in this beautiful city. On the route towards Champagne offers
perhaps have the opportunity to visit a snail farm. Here we have the opportunity to get to know this typically French specialty in more detail and, if necessary, to try it. Before dinner together, a visit to a smaller champagne cellar is on the agenda.
The route to Reims leads through the hilly landscape of Champagne, past the former historic race track just outside the city gates. We reach the city center via branch routes. The short drive through Reims takes you past the cathedral to the car museum. There is a large parking lot available there. There is enough time planned here to explore the city center on your own. On the way back to the hotel we drive through the Parc Naturel Régional de la Montagne de Reims. The viewpoint there offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Champagne region.
After breakfast together, we drive on side roads where you can make good and quick progress in the classic car towards home. Around midday we reach the European Beer Museum in a small town on the Meuse, just before the Luxembourg border. Then we return home via Luxembourg and Hunsrück.
