Vintage car Alpine trip to the French Alps

Classic car/Yougtimer Alps trip September 2023

Discover the autumnal landscape of the Alps... in a vintage car!!!

The route

The tour starts approx. 70km south of Besancon. (If you want, you can book an additional night for your journey to northern Alsace). Then we continue into the Alps via Grenoble to near Gap. We will spend 3 nights there and do a different tour every day, but if you want you can also spend a day off there. Then we go briefly to Italy and then back to France to Aix le Bains. Our journey ends near Pontarlier after approx. 2000km.

The program

The focus of this trip is on driving in an impressive Alpine region with crossing numerous passes. The trip is particularly suitable for sporty vehicles and classic cars! We therefore do not offer an additional program with visits or guided tours.

Third and fourth day:

Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th September 2023

We spend 3 nights in the same hotel.

On the 3rd day we drive a loop in a southwesterly direction to Mont Ventoux, famous from the Tour de France, crossing some little-known passes such as B, Col de Macuenge and Col des Tempetes to name just a few.

The 4th day takes us south towards Cannes/Nice. There are plenty of passes on this route on this lap. On both days it is possible to shorten the tour and return to the hotel earlier.

Alternatively, if you want, you can take a day off and spend it in the hotel or in Gap.

Fifth day:

Thursday September 7th, 2023

Back to France we head northwest.

On this travel day, two of the most famous and highest passes are on the program: the Col d'Izoard and Col de Galibier! We drive on the Route de Grand Alpes until we finally reach our destination for the day in Aix les Bains. In addition to the largest freshwater marina in France and the casino, the sophisticated thermal spa town of Aix les Bains has many buildings that are reminiscent of the city's importance in the "Belle Epoque".
